Mighty Meaty Pittas

Makes 4 toddler portions.

Prep: 5 mins Cooking 35 mins

Source of: Protein / Phosphorous / Zinc

Method

1. Peel and dice onion.
2. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the diced onion, add mince beef, and cook until fully browned.
3. Drain off any fat from the meat.
4. Once the mince is cooked, grate in the carrot, add the beef stock and herbs/tomato purée and simmer for 20-25 mins.
5. To serve add ¼ of the mince mixture into ½ a pitta bread.

Serving Suggestion:
Serve with some vegetable sticks e.g. carrots cut into sticks.

Portion size - 1/2 a pitta with ¼ of the mince = 1 toddler portion

Storage

Suitable for Freezing: The meat mixture can be frozen into portions

When making the parcels why not use some stamps to add shapes to the pittas for example stars, hearts, flowers or even some letters.
